Ayurveda for middle-aged women

Ayurveda- the oldest technique of natural medicine and healing offers the most coveted health benefits for people of all ages.

It follows the underlying principle of healing and reinstating physical balance. The phenomenon of Ayurveda is designed to check with the emotional, physical and mental well-being of a person through a strong emphasis on a balanced diet and lifestyle improvement. 

In context to women’s wellbeing, middle-aged women are susceptible to experiencing a wide range of physical and psychological ailments. So, when you are through this phase in your life, a number of clinical visits is high as well. In a retrospective study in 2002, it was reported that women were less likely to have more physical health scores than men. As a result, they are more intended to take medications of different sorts as compared to men of the same age.

But, Ayurveda is a powerful healing technique that works from inside and reduces the symptomatic distresses at ease with herbal formulations. 

Women And Their Health Concerns

As you approach 40 and beyond, you are slowly getting closer to physical and emotional disturbances. Irritation, sleeping problems, fatigue, headaches, depressive mood, joint pains, not to mention the agonies of menopause are common. As per Ayurveda, there are three principles or doshas that control our body through physiological balances like Vata, Pitta and Kapha. These three principles or doshas have strong control over our body and they work the following way;

Vata – controls blood circulation and movement

Pitta– monitors energy production, digestion, and metabolism

Kapha– regulates physical strength

Besides, there is a different level of life cycle according to these doshas.

Kapha– Early phase of life till adulthood

Pitta – Adolescent phase

Vata– Late phase of life from 50 onwards

Sleeping problems

Research has the same agreement with Ayurveda as it emphasizes on the good quality of sleep. It is the backbone of optimal health and longevity. During middle-age, you can have a disturbing sleeping habit, which may result in a dozen ailments such as diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

As per Ayurveda, it is best to let off your bad thoughts and say some prayers. This would help. Warm milk with a pinch of nutmeg is helpful as well.

Menopause

As you hit menopause, hot flashes, sleep disturbances, irregular periods and vaginal dryness irritate you. In Ayurveda, Vata Pitta balancing is helpful to relieve menopausal related irritations. Deep breathing integrated with meditation and yoga can help you at large.

Arthritis  

As per Ayurveda, drinking and bathing in hot water can help control the symptoms of arthritis. Alongside, you must follow the yoga principles to balance mental wellness. Regular oil massage or Abhyanga with warm oil with essential oils can reduce joint pain.

Remember, if you can balance all the doshas well, you can enjoy your life and you can have the best time of your life. The key is to maintain the balance to hold onto your vitality.
