Benefits of Dhanwantaram Taila for postnatal mothers

Dhanwantaram Taila plays a vital role in the neuroprotection and preserving the natural functions of the nervous system. It also supports musculoskeletal system, so it is beneficial in treating pain post-delivery. Regular massage with Dhanwantaram oil during pregnancy is also beneficial as it helps to strengthen the muscles and makes them strong enough to hold the foetus. This strength later helps in facilitating childbirth. The oil also improves the elasticity of the skin and prevents stretch marks.

The traditional formula of Dhanwantaram Taila completely rejuvenates the body and increases immunity. Made with sesame oil, gooseberry, vetiver, Indian madder and sida cordifolia, the oil strengthens the muscles and improves the elasticity of the skin. It also prevents stretch marks after pregnancy.

Relief from stress and anxiety: A new mother faces emotional ups and downs and suffers from anxiety, jitteriness, and absentmindedness due to Vata dosha imbalance. Dhanwantaram oil has sesame oil as its base, which has Vata balancing properties. It pacifies aggravated Vata in pre and-post natal mothers.

A massage with Dhanwantaram oil can significantly decreased the levels of the stress hormones called Cortisol and Norepinephrine. Regular oil massage with this powerful oil also boosts the ‘happy’ hormones called Dopamine and Serotonin.

Dhanwantaram oil contains Haritaki (Chebulic Myrobalan), which heals exhaustion, emaciation, uterine prolapse, and weakened pelvic muscles and ligaments.

Regulates hormones: Dhanwantaram oil contains ingredients like shatavari (wild asparagus), ashwagandha (Indian ginseng), yashtimadhu (liquorice), and devadaru (Himalayan cedar), which are mentioned in ancient Ayurvedic texts, and are said to have balancing effects on female hormonal cycles. These herbs enhance physical vitality, fertility, and libidinal energy after childbirth. These magical herbs also dispel symptoms of postpartum depression.

Prevents stretch marks and dark patches: Dhanwantaram Taila has sesame oil as its base, which is rich source of vitamin E. It keeps the skin dehydrated and gets rid of flakiness, improving the skin elasticity, thus preventing stretch marks.

Sesame oil is also known to cure dark patches that develop around the nose, cheeks, forehead, and abdomen, as a result of hormonal changes during pregnancy. Amalaki (Indian Gooseberry), on the other hand, brightens the skin and makes it smooth and tonned.

The sub-dosha of Vata, Apana Vayu, is responsible for downward movement of energy, or Prana. Tagar or Indian Valerian present in Dhanwantaram Taila balances Apana Vayu and acts as a nerve tonic. Dhanwantaram oil also soothes any anxiety after childbirth.

Provides relief from pain: After childbirth, the mother faces body pains and aches. A regular massage with Dhanwantaram oil soothes all pain. Manjistha or Indian Madder, and Ashwagandha present in the oil have anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties. The oil also relieves stress from the muscles and reduces nerve pain.

Restores strength of the body: Post childbirth, the mother becomes weak due to loss of fluid and blood. During this stage the newly mother needs a lot of care otherwise it causes diseases and discomfort in the future. A daily massage with Dhanwantaram Taila rejuvenates her. It also reduces imbalances in her body.
